“wanton disregard for human life” yes…and was to be expected given the dynamics of this civil war.  Unfortunately, the Tamil Tigers  still feel that they have something left in this fight (I’m not sure why) and will continue to resist.  Government forces, meanwhile, recognize that this may be on the only opportunity to crush the Tamil Tigers once and for all; and are willing to go to extreme ends to accomplish this.
