Course: IB History SL-1
Dates: 31 August to 4 September
Essential Question(s): Who are the Arabs? Jews? Palestinians? What is identity and how does it play a role in this conflict? What is geopolitics & what role does it play in this conflict? Compare and contrast your initial perceptions of this conflict with other sectarian conflicts you’ve learned about. Evaluate your ability to offer a “value free” standpoint on this conflict. What “constitutes” Palestine? What role did nationalism play in 19th Century Palestine? Why are primary sources important? How does one distinguish between the variety of historical sources?
